What is Valley View Chapel all about?
VVC is a church excited about God. We dedicate our time and resources to serving God and our community. We embrace the fact that God is using His people to reach the world and we are willing and ready to be used. Our mission is to serve God and our community with the resources God has blessed us with.
Is VVC affiliated with a denomination?
VVC is proud to be a part of the Foursquare movement, based on Pentecostal theology. The International Church of the Foursquare Gospel was started in the 1920's by Aimee Semple McPherson in California. Aimee's vision was to reach the world with the Gospel. VVC was chartered as the Martinsburg Foursquare Church in August of 1961. To learn more about the International Church of the Foursquare Gospel, visit www.foursquare.org.
Worship service at VVC consists of contemporary-style praise and worship music with occassional praise choruses and hymns. Our worship team consists of a keyboardist, drummer, guitar players, and singers. Worshipers are free to express their praise to God by raising their hands and singing out to the Lord.
What is worship like at VVC?
I read the word "Pentecostal" above. Do people at VVC speak in tongues?
VVC believes in using the gifts of the Spirit and His empowerment to reach the world with His message of love. People who have the gift to speak with other tongues are welcome to excercise that gift in an orderly fashion at VVC. VVC strives to maintain a free, but orderly service so everyone from all walks of life can come worship our beloved Savior without distraction.
What else can I expect at VVC?
When you visit VVC, you can expect to be immersed in the love of God. People have often said they can feel the presence of God as soon as they enter the building. You can expect to see people healed of sicknesses on a regular basis. You can also expect to see lives changed and transformed.
"Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today, and forever."
